I just spent a solid two hours airbrushing an acrylic basecoat over all the lower hull metal parts and wheels for the M4 (there's a lot of suspension parts an I have a very old Iwata). The Sherman has just the aluminum hull and not a plastic lower like the Tiger. I used Tamiya's CLEAR Metal Parts primer ( I even have to shake my head as I type, CLEAR PRIMER????) waited three days and applied the base (flat black) to cover with OD and so on.
My question is for you guys who have run these tanks, presumably outside, How does the paint hold up to use? Did you hit the really exposed areas with extra clear coats (Future?) for protection or is it inevitably going to shed paint, other than what might look normal anyway.
