Do not dispair, Feria..! Things might still happen! I had to wait a loooong time for an answer when I posted a query about the XB-70 Valkyrie bomber... But when it came, it was fantastic!

Be patient -- some things might take awhile to answer.

Here is some advice about posting:

Something to keep in mind is to be really specific with your subjects. If your post was about Tamiya 88 gun then put that in your subject line. More people will tend to look at that and respond than to something which is generic.

I didn't check to see if the topic your referring to was started by you or if you asked the question within someone's topic (if that makes sense?). What I have seen done is people asking questions which are unrelated to the topic it's in and expect an answer. If it's not related to the topic -- start a new one. Your chances for an answer is extremely better that way.

It would also be helpful if you would provide a link from here to the post you are referring to. There's a lot of activity here and some topics get buried quickly.

To include a link, all you have to do is highlight and copy the URL at the top of your browser and paste it right into the message. That's it. The forum will convert it into a clickable link for you.

Feria,
The reels on the 88 were used to hold communication wires. The Tamiya kit provides vinyl tubing for that purpose; throw it away and replace it using small solder; it's certainly more realistic. Since the kit was first produced in the 1970s, it needs a lot of work to make it into a more accurate representation, but still produces a fairly impressive kit out of the box. I built the 88 kit for the 1996 IPMS Nationals, and I left off two of the four reels Tamiya supplied, but scratchbuilt the "axles" that the reels may have rotated on. If I'm not mistaken the reference book I used for the project was a Schiffer publication on the 88...very helpful. Hope this helps.
All the best,
