Trumpeter's E-75 Flakpanzer is a nice kit and benefits from metal barrels and Friul metal tracks as the rubber band stuff in the kit is just not quite right - but that's my personal opinion.
You are delving into what if terretory here as the E series never came into being with the allies overrunning the factorys and the war ending.
This being said, you have to follow the colour timeline. The E series would have come in to production and active service in late 1945 and so the base coat of the vehicles would be RAL 6003 Green.
Now, for this stage in the was Vallejo don't have the right shade yet, but they are working on it as I have provided them with a complete set of the changes to RAL 7028 from February 1043 to it's last incarnation in December January 1945.
At this moment the closest you will get is RAL 7008 which is, believe it or not, one of the Afrika Korps paints. It is just slightly darker than the last incarnation of RAL 7028 but not by much and contrary to AK's "Real Colors" (they are nowhere close) when you look closely at original period photos (not he colourised ones) and make allowences for your graphics card and monitor colour temperature settings then you may find that some of the Afrika Corps colours were used in the factory very late in the war due to bombings, supply disruptions etc were used as an alternative to RAL 7028
All these can be found in Vallejo's Model Air range.
These are the original colours. They may not show correctly on your monitor. These were made for me from original formulae from a German paint manufacture who made the paints in the war for the military. The formulae was modified to modern acrylic standards for me to use on my recoverd original vehicles when they undergo full restoration but checked with original batch and chip samples to make sure they match 100%.
Dunkelgelb Nach Muster.
This is NOT RAL 7028 and did not get entered into the RAL Register. Translated it says "Dark Yellow after pattern/sample"
Only seen and used from February 1943 on new vehicles and on vehicles that went through field workshops to the end of Operation Citadel (Kursk) in August 1943.
THe colour which went in to the Register was different to this as the complaints and feedback from frontline troops was very negative.
What actually went into the register was this:
Used from August 1943 to about March/April 1944
The following shade replaced this one from March/April 1944 to November/December 1944
The last shade used from November/December 1944 to May 1945 was this one.
The RAL 6003 base shade, last shade of RAL 7028 and the 8017 Chocolate brown was field tested by Tiger II tanks of 503 heavy tank batallion who took part in Operation Panzerfaust in Budapest, Hungary 1944. THe report was very faverorable and so was brought in in late december 1944 with new vehicles sporting this seen by the Allies in January 1945 and noted in intelligence reports.
Your Question, should I use this.... You can if you want. Nobody is stopping you at all because it's your build and you can finish it as you wish. But it is a "what if..." vehicle and if you want to add some hisorical accuracy then go with the above.
Post some pictures though! Give us a look!!!
