I’m 95% certain that the M3 Lights that the Marines had on Guadalcanal came from US Army stock, and actually retained some of those markings. That being said, the color in use at the time was US Army Corps of Engineers  shade no.9, Olive Drab. FS colors had not come along yet. It is pretty close to the modern FS 34087 shade. But not an exact match.

As things stand right now, I like to use the Model Master, Polly Scale, or Gunze versions of the color. After weathering, washes, etc. the base color is going to change anyways. Even the good old little square bottles of Testors paint will work as a starting point.
