Military Refueler
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, March 25, 2003 4:34 PM
A couple of years ago, AFV Club produced a military refueler kit based on a similar chassis to the present kit of the M49A2C but with two separate fuel tank pods. Can anyone remember the kit number? ... the fuel pods are required for a conversion project and would save a considerable amount of time scratchbuilding.

the kit number (on the box) is 3507 and the tanker is a M-35A2 Tanker

Many thanks (captain caveman) for the response but unfortunately this AF3507 is not the kit I need as it comes with a single tank. I'm sure there was a previous kit supplid with two separate tanks.

I don't know of a kit. AFV Club has only released 3 truck kits
the single tank the cargo & the Guntruck. I know exactly what your trying to do. I've got a few links that should help you. A Friend built one in 1/16 scale

I also have been looking for these pods myself.

Thanks Matt, superb sites. The pods are required for a kitbash of a M548A1 Tracked Firefighter, it was featured some time ago in Wheels & Tracks. I know there is a modern version at Fort Hood Texas but that has one tank ... too easy, I prefer the original version. Will let you know if I come across one of those kits.
