That octagonal coffee cup is amazing!!!!  How long did that take you?  Also, what paint did you use on it?  Stick out tongue

Seriously though, it'll take me a million years to do something that looks like that.  I love all the action you've captured.  Good luck on your surgery.

Very good use of flow and motion.  In your first picture, I was actually concentrating on the GI following the running Germans with his rifle and I was completely caught off guard in the next picture with I finally noticed the Tiger.

Great job!  I pray that you will get better and can get to go back doing dioramas.

Last post for awhile.

A friend is coming over to take high quality pics.

My pictures do not do it justice ( and for that I am ashamed )

I mean I did the chin traps, rifle straps, insignia, and you can't see it. I even painted the buckles onto the straps.

It holds up very well at 2 to 3 magnification. Looks way better on my table then in these pics.

Yeah surgery will be a snap. After I had my accident 25 years ago, besides the spinal fusion, morphine pump, they put in a long rod called a spinal cord stimulator to mask the pain. The battery pack is implanted in you rear.

Anyway it never really worked...but what it did do was move.

So when it moves it is actually skinning you alive from the inside. Since it is placed next to the spinal cord but between the skin and muscle.

So when it moves it is actually peeling your skin from your muscle. Even a few mms is something else..pain wise. It only does when I'm doing a lot of stuff physically...but I want to do a lot more physically now.

So out it comes..it just blows I won't be a ble to model for a while.

Thanks everyone for the warm responses.

See you soon

Oh and I'll be adding a german paratrooper running toward the action. He'll be in front of the Tiger, ( big old dead spot in the action there )

And adding 1 or 2 more GIs to balance it out. Maybe have one stepping off the frame into the diorama.

And repainting some of Tiger crew with camo, they just don't pop enough in black.

These things never really do end ..do they?

Peace

tigerman

That's quite a large dio. Lots of equipment and figgies. I've never tried anything like that before. Actually, no dio to my name. You should be happy with your modeling comeback.

Happy does not begin to explain how I feel now. 20 + years lost...

I have a lot of catching up to do. For some people this is a hobby. For me it's a way of life. My stuff was almost this good 20 years ago ( all self taught since I was wee lad )

Imagine , not only 20 years of experience on top of that, but 20 years of modeling equipment ? I'd be in heaven...instead of piece by piece like I'm now doing.

Models amd dioramas are 3 D canvases to me. ( I also paint )

And I'm an artist...

Happy ?  x 1000000000.

Large and busy, telling a fluid story..........I like it very much. Detailing looks quite good and is a definite looker. Great job and good luck with your surgery.

Encounter :

Blue Vervain Cafe, France, early fall 1944.

There is a story here. If anybody is interested , let me know.

Maybe 10 hours of finetuning left.Knives, drybrushing, mud etc (And I might give some of the german tankers camo.) Oh and finish the little tank..I actually lost some of the parts..lol.  I want to put a rebel flag on the aerial.

And maybe add one more GI and have him stepping off the frame into the diorama.

First the Tiger being finished and now this. After 20 some odd years ? Kinda happy.Sniff.

Anyway I'm posting this now and not when it's finished finished because I'll be laid up for a while starting tomorrow and it'll be a month or so before I can even think about sitting up much less model. ( Minor surgery ) Just can't wait another month to show it.

So what do you think ?

The frame is made from an old ammo crate. I was just going to give it an ornate scapolled jobee...but thought this would be more in line.

Don't know what was in the crate as I only got part of it.

Peace..

Edit. I need a better camera.

Closer ups.
