Might someone know what the engine block color of this US 2 1/2 ton 6x6 was, when it came off the assembly line?

In both the 2 1/2 and 5 tons you probably won't go wrong if you paint the overall engine OD. (at least for the Army versions). Accessories (starter, generator/alternator, fuel injection lines etc) could be OD, black, brown or green.

You could always give it some character by adding some oil stains and such too.
