I built this 1:35 scale AMT/Ertl Russian T-72 in Iraqi service during Operation Desert Storm for the Modern Armour GB. I did add AM barrel, track links by Trumpeter and Iraqi flag and transfer from Archer Fine Transfers. Pretty much it looks like an easy build but me and this model had our moments. But I was very happy how it turned out.
Nice looking build. I want to put a 1/144 apache behind it for a forced perspective diorama :) (BTW - I'm not an armor guy)
Thanks,
John
TigerII can i ask where you got the Arabic T-72 slogans from ? If it's a decal sheet, do you have the manufacturer and sheet number please ?

I'm fairly certain that the AMT/Ertl boxing of the Esci T-72 included Iraqi markings as an option whereas the original Esci kit included just USSR/DDR markings since it was released a year before the invasion of Kuwait. Subsequent Esci releases added the Iraqi markings too to capitalize on Desert Storm as did the later released AMT/Ertl boxing.
Hey Dave, I got the Arabic slogans from Dragon's Iraqi Army decal sheet and also there is a T-34/85 Arabic slogan from Archer Fine Transfers. I also used AFT's Iraqi flag. Here are some pics. BTW the AMT model box did not bring any Arabic decal sheets, just Russian.
