What to build?

I have to agree with capt. caveman. I just did the tamiya M4A3 kit it was a breeze. It looks ok and not to many small parts to make you go blind on your first build lol. Word of advice if you go with this kit do not use enamels to paint it. Found they didnt work to well Banged Head [banghead]

If you look at the newer Tamiya kits you could'nt go far wrong
the Sherman M4 is a good easy build
the Tiger 1 early
M20 or M8 greyhound
or the Cromwell
have a look at some that you like the look of and ask here if ther ok for a first build

I wouldn't go with the Tamiya M-41 Bulldog, it needs a lot of work to make it look good. For a good M41, go with either the AFV Club or Skybow versions. They are 100 times better than the Tamiya kit.

for a good price and an easy build try Tamiya's 1/35 SdKfz 251/1
Im building it right now and its pretty easy.

Tamiya's tiger 1 early version. It's what started me off in armor and is the perfect kit to be introduced into the tiger 1. (Well, except for the price Blush [:I]

Why not stay cheap and easy both? Tamiyas PZKFW II is as easy as it gets.

if you get a Tiger 1 try and get the Tamiya Tiger 1 with the drum cupola (the grey one) it dos'nt need zimerit

Thanks for the info guys...all of you have been more than helpful! I am going to purchase 3 kits for the moment....A bradley, tiger, and a bull dog. Will probably start on the Bradley first....drove and maintained one of those for three years prior to a job change in the 3rd ID....Bulldog and tiger will come next. Now to figure out what paints I need to get. Thanks again!

Welcome, Warior.

If you are wanting to do 1/35, stick with Tamiya for your first. (I'd go with any of their Tigers, or Panther G's myself.

If you want 1/72, go with the Revell/Germany Tigers.

The Dragon kits are very nice in both scales, but in 1/35th, they all have independent link tracks. In 1/72, their instructions are a little strange, to say the least. But they are very nice kits. I'd just wait on them for a while. And don't be tempted into photo etched parts. Let that all come later. Get a nice kit or two under your belt out of the box.
