No Jon, I know what they are! You guys and gals gotta answer the question.

The turret is from the Scharnhorst, by the way. The middle gun was removed.

If you look closely at the two on the left, you can the see two Maus turrets on the back.
Those nutty Nazis!

You mean the hamburger, rightWink [;)]Wink [;)]

Anyhoo, had you kept going down the street to the LST Building near what was Trover Hall (WWII Armor School area), there was (maybe still is?) one you could crawl around inside of, if the building happens to be open for a tour!

Go? You mean post a nutty armor pic?
OK...this one might be easy. I can't find any real pix (I wonder why?Wink [;)]), but these are of a nifty little toy, of which I am the proud owner.

What are these?

They're mighty big! The toy is 1/700 scale.

I have a picture somewhere from when I was in AIT in FT Knox, KY in front of an MBT-70 that they have on display across from the Burger King on post. I was going training for M60A3s and when I saw that monster I almost dropped my Whopper ! !

I think Accurate Armour has a 1/35 resin add-on kit to make an ersatz M-10, too.

from Dictionary.com: ersatz \AIR-sahts; UR-sats\, adjective:
Being a substitute or imitation, usually an inferior one. Ersatz derives from German Ersatz, "a substitute."

The term was often used by German soldiers to name the coffee substitute (usually Chichory) that they were provided with as part of their meal ration -ie, erstaz coffee. (imitation coffee).

As M1 says, the Ersatz Panther was a modified SdKfz 171 Panther Ausf G; field modified with sheet steel to make the outline look like an US M10 Tank Destroyer from a reasonable distance.

FrostyGirl scratchbuilt one in 1/72nd scale for the Sherman Group build if you want to go back a few dozen pages to find it. Also Dragon have indicated that they will produce a 1/35th scale kit this year.

Petbat got it on all counts!

Why did they stop? Because it's wacky!!

Any 1/35 kits of the Army Surplus Special? I have a cool little 1/72 model of it.

looks modern, looks like a german chassie. so i consult "Jane's tank reconition guide". look like the marder 1, but the turet is diferent. ASCOD MICV, used by spain. Turret looks a little diferent but the rest is identical. maybe it is a varient, time to check sorce #2: Google. hummm i found pics that have a turret that looks a bit like the picture. i can't find a picture of the light tank with a 105mm maybe that is it?

Hi All,

Haven't looked at this thread since the laughter from that Skanky Skink answer busted my hernia wide open. Are you guys still looking for the identification of the Grosstractor III (Krupp) heavy tank, or did I miss something in the thread ? (probably.... "Ron, you yutz.... day late, dollar short")...Wink [;)]

The cartoon half track? You guys are obviously into comics I'v never seen! LOL.
