Miniarm T-72 turret sets - anyone have them?

Looking to hear from anyone who's got a Miniarm T-72 conversion set for e.g. the Tamiya kit. Can't find much in the way of instructions or even box contents.

For instance, do they come with a barrel?

Thanks for these!

What I am mainly wondering about is if they include a barrel in the conversion kit. Miniarm's site doesn't say and all the retailers I've found don't show have any details. It's ~$30-40 so trying to find that out before purchasing.

Understandable and commendable. Too many folks buy blindly and then complain that it wasn't what they expected. There is too much information on the web to not do a cursory search to get a better idea of what you're spending your hard earned money on.

People will drive five or ten miles out of their way to save 5¢ on a gallon of gas, less than a buck for most fill ups, yet they won't ask for or Google the answer before spending nearly $50 on a model.

A better question is, is it worth it to convert the Tamiya kit or will just buying a more complete kit by another manufacturer for the same or lesser amount of money?

In other words, sell the Tamiya kit for $20 and use the savings to purchase a superior kit of that version.

Agreed and thanks. All makes sense. Probably going to build the Tamiya kit still, first, perhaps even as a testbed for future builds of the same type. Thanks!

I did some research on the kit when I first got one. It is a rather rare combination of hull and turret used by the EAst Germans and transferred to the West Germans after reunification.

Once upon a time, Verlinden produced a turret and hull conversion. I bought them at a deep discount about ten years ago. They apparently turn the kit into a more common version.

But with the more current model kits, you could get to that version straight out of the box and would be cheaper than kit + turret + hull, then of course many would add metal tracks.

I bought a partially built kit way back when and I completed it. It is a fairly nice kit OOB.

I have the Miniarm Ural turret, B35087. It comes with a barrel, resin and etch, lots of pieces. Instructions are basic. The parts area all well cast, reasonably small pour plugs and very nicely detailed. The turret came with some damage, repairable but \preventable with better packaging.

I'm using it on the Tamiya kit, with the glacis modified to delete the added armor.
