M48a5 paint scheme in 1980s

Thanks for the quick replies, I’m finally going to finish or begin to finish my diorama idea from years ago. A red dawnish type diorama with 2 M48a5 and an M113

Yes, the M113s would be the same. 

In '74, the overall color from the factory became Forest Green, FS 34079, replacing Olive Drab.  Vehicles were sent to units in Forest Green and expected to have the MERDC pattern applied at unit level.  Most units did this early on throughout the late '70s.  By the early '80s, many units just left them in Forest Green as MERDC was supposted to be reapplied as the seasons changed to keep it in line with season foliage color changes.  This was a big hassle and became very expensive.

Would the M113s be in this color as well, I’m assuming so but just varifyilong.

A mixed bag of MERDC or U.S.Forest Green depending on the unit. Mostly from why I've gathered you're going to be seeing overall  U.S.Forest Geen for most.

Vallejo provides this color, among many other makers.
