Meng Panther zim decals info?
Posted by XLNT on Monday, August 26, 2019 8:50 AM

Meng Panther kits show 7 vehicle opens in the build manual. My LHS has Meng 5 zim decal sets, the label says , decal 1,2,4,5,6.

Do info is on the decal packet OR the kit manual as to what decal set for each version.

Does the decal set label " 1,2,3,4,5,6,7  relate to the build version in the manual? The info from Meng i find lacking.

Even looking at the decal sheets and the manual pictures is not conclusive!

Ok. I have built this and it is a very nice kit.

The images that you are referring to are the kit finishing and painting options. you have 7 painting options.

With reguard to the Zimmerit decals, there are 4 different sets for the Panther A... be careful as there is a set for the D Panther.

Applying the zimmeritt decals is not quite do easy as the instructions say. They are resin printed on to decal paper and I found that they wouldn't stick. I thought about it and then went outside the box.

That zimmerit decal is stuck on with standard white PVA glue!

You will find that it is easy to soak the decals, remove from sheet and place the zimmeritt decal and leave overnight for it to dry. then remove, put some pva on and stick it back.

this is the rear plate. it has the zimmeritt decal stuck on with PVA glue and the rest of the parts added and is ready for priming and base coat etc.

The Zimmeritt sets have a different pattern from different factories. Choose one that you like.

When I get round to building Mengs Tiger II with initial turret I will be using their Zimmeritt set for it and will post a in depth build. Not sure when that will be at this moment!
