Putting a tank in your Tiger; Episode 4, a new hope..

It is time for another update..

The world of PE is a tricky one. It is of very small people and has a different gravitational pull compared to our own planet. I'm deciding to take the touristic route, going from one area to the next, keeping my mind fresh so I don't end up jumping up and down on the now famous Tiger of mine. Here's a brief list of the attractions I visited. I went snorkeling in Hull cast surface, paraglided off of the Aber clamps, did some shopping for postcards in Fire extinguisher and toolbox detailing and finally took some holiday snaps at the Bicycle gear cable tow cable. Lots of fun..

The cast surface was acchieved by painting the surface with liquid glue, then stipling it with the brush. This left me with a nice textured surface and some cloudy glue..

The gun barrel and mantlet aren't textured (though the mantlet will be), they just jumped in the way while I was airbrushing the interior.

I added the bicycle gear wire attached to the kit loops because the kit items looked offensive. They have since been charged and are facing several months on probation.

Yes, I know that its not on quite straight, but I reckoned that these loops weren't attached as tight as Christina Aguilera's trousers on the real thing. I reckon they has a certain amount of slack, like Ben Afflecks IQ.

I have finally decided to focus on the finer things in life. A good South African or Australian red wine, good food, stop signs and tiny detail that make your eyeballs excrete blood. I decided to start on the toolbox on the back.. All these parts are reworked kit parts. The toolbox actually had to be reshaped to show it has actually got a lid.

At this point my eyes were sore..

Then the fire extinguisher.

And finally the wingnuts for the hull MG wading cover.. Oh, I added a standard issue ball point pen for scale reference..

Right after that I was blind.

The rest of the kit is coming along swimmingly. Hoping to get some World War 2 productions tracks for it soon. Anywhat; here are some more pics.. Enjoy!

Thanks Monrad.. Well, to be honest I bit the bullet and just did the stipling. First time ever, and as its a really easy technique even I could do it and I'm most happy.

As for the smoking stuff.. Nah, not too big into that, its more like the fluorescent lighting in the office thats working its deathrays on my brain..

That is definatly a lovely looking Tiger indeed.

I reckon any liquid glue will do, as I've got some UHU or Kibri bottle. Just use it in moderation, as always. I always assumed they were all the same..

Micheal: How about that tool box latch !,....... pretty fun eh'? If it is like my JT's was I had to quit 3 times because of severe eyestrain! The damn thing was literally giving me a migraine ! Those wingnut latches are a treat too . But all that aside , very fine job so far , keep plugging away , and when you have too many glasses of vino and start to see 3 of everything , its time to quit for the day !Big Smile [:D]

Well at least the copious ammount of super glue explains your preamble. I guess you discovered whatever I was on.
Beautiful work and narrative....the sole disappointment is knowing the interior is forever sealed. Thanks for sharing and keep'em coming please.

As far as the Austrailian Red....moi aussi!

Thanks for the kind words lads..

As you can see this is a very, very long process as I plan a using as much of the PE as I can. So far the only bits left untouched are the driver and r/o hatch interiours.. Mainly because I would have to include an interiour in the lower hull..

Now, as I said before: now all I have to do is ruin the paintjob..

Very impressive Michael. Slow and steady will pay off big in the end.

Great work on your Tiger there Michael! I am enjoying it's progress, and your quirky commentery. I reckon a good slogan for a PE company would be "PE: Fun you don't know you're having."

Good point about Aussie wine too, heaven knows how we managed to be good at something so cultured, but we are. I might have a Barossa Shiraz from my rack tonight!
