Tamiya 1/35 King Tiger Henschel Turret

Thought I’d share my completed build for the Resurrection group build. This Tamiya kit started out life as the first armor kit I built after my return to the hobby and it showed. Here is what it looked like originally.
Not a great looking model when all was said and done. The Resurrection group builds goal was to take something you’ve already built and make it look better than before, so with that in mind I got to work on the King Tiger. There were a few mistakes on the kit I couldn’t fix. Some of the road wheels aren’t facing out correctly, which isn’t an issue unless you look, impossible to fix as they were really glued on. Engine deck screens are missing so I’m just saying this is a what if July 1945 production King Tiger that has the screens deleted. Here is the finished model.
Knocked the side skirt on this photo.
It’s a big improvement for my first effort. Did a few techniques I’ve never done before. I’m not big into weathering so I just did some light chipping and added a wash to some of the dark yellow sections of the tank. I will say this is the first ambush scheme I’ve been happy. The markings aren’t accurate I just pulled them out of the spares box.
Thanks for looking!

The original paint scheme looks pretty darn good but the revamp looks great! Love the chipped scuffed paint.
