Stryker model kit
Posted by PontiacRich on Sunday, November 10, 2019 4:16 PM

Question: Which company makes the best Stryker model? And by best, I'm looking for the balance between accuracy and ease of building. Also, of the Stryker models out there which variant is the best?

I'm looking at ebay and other sites and there seems to be at least a few boxings out there. Are they all the same kit with different box art?

Any help would be appreciated!

The best detailed ones are by AFV Club.  The easiest to build are the Trumpeter ones and they are pretty well detailed too.  The versions by each are equally as good, it just depends on which version you want.  The Panda M1296 Dragoon is about equal in detail and buildability as the Trumpeter kits.

I thought the AFV Club 1126 went together easy for me and my modest skills.

Thanks.

I chose the Trumpeter because it was almost half the price of the AFV.

One thing I noticed on eBay (haven't been on for quite a while), most of the kits are coming direct from China or Canada.  Very few sales within the USA.  Is that a new trend?

Not a new trend but the listing model kit sellers on Ebay are now mostly from China.  Gone are the days when small sellers and indivduals were the main listers.  I have noticed most of the listings are now also 'Buy or make an offer' only.  Fewer and fewer listed with bidder options.  Not as many bargains as there used to be on Ebay.

That is ok with me as I don't need any encouragement to increase my stash.
