Zvezda 251/1 ausf.b
Posted by Srpuln10 on Saturday, November 23, 2019 5:42 PM

I've started putting together the Zvezda. I'm  attempting to do a thread build. As of right now I'm not able to upload pics I'm still trying to get that figured out. But I'll try my best to explain everything that I can as best as I can. I'm going to set up a website so y'all can visit and see. Ok,it came molded in light gray and there's no flash that I can find. I've assembled the lower hull. Most of everything fit perfect. I had a small problem with rear plate as it seemed a little big. Sanded and it fit. It may have been due to the side plates too straight up and down. That's all I've done. Just taking my time. I've put a afv 251 together. It has some  issues but with a little change it turned out good. I'll and try get pics uploaded here are on a website. Wish me luck.

I'm not sure enough on my skills to change inside. I've thought about but I've not been able to find a good enough place or website to find out what I need to change. I'm working on a photo site now. I started the other day but life happened. But it usually does when you try and make plans. But I'm still taking photos and saving them to upload

Ok I'm on my second day of my build sort of. Anyway, things have really went smooth. The instructions have a step 1,2,3 etc. But with each step they'll be 1-a or 3-a. Then you have to incorporate that into the step itself. I've built most of the side steps. I'm going at this really really slow. That last 251 I built didn't turn out so good. As I'm looking forward I'm going to have to paint the inside before the top goes on. I'm going to need any help I can get. So if anyone has info please let me know. I like that it has an engine that you build. It's really detailed. I can't remember if I've ever had a engine that was in the kit. It's cool to me.

Info on the Ausf A/B inside is pretty thin on the ground. The only images i have seen are a couple through the rear door and inside Guderian's /6 Command vehilce. Even the panzer Tracts books have no drawings on the interior, and that for me says it all.

ICM did a good job on their Ausf and from what little we know, they got it right. Zvezda went for the easy option and just put in an Ausf C interior. Eduard originally released a PE set that corrected the Zvezda kit, but then they pulled that and released once which simply enhanched it as it was. I was lucky in that i got hold of the original PE set. So short of scratchbulding based on very little info, or useing the resin set from MR Models designed for the ICM kit, i would just leave the inside as it is.

Painting the interior before fitting the upper hull s the was i have gone on all my 251's, its deffinetly the best option. I have not built mine yet but will dig out the instructions tonight and see if there is anything to be aware of. The engine is a nice touch, ICM has it in theirs as well.

Look forward to seeing your pics.
