J-hulk, Min Soo, keep your eyes open at the Shizuoka show. I did some hunting the other day and there were some bits of info here and there that sounds lilke someone is working on a release of the Stryker. It will no doubt make a debut at one of the big shows and there is likely a place as any.

One of the rumors had it that VLS may release it here in the states, but I can't confirm it. There were lots of little hints that made reference to it as well as a few other web sites that there was a "buzz" about this vehicle.

Like I said this is more rumor than cold hard fact, but it sounds very intruiging and worth an ear to the ground.

Looks like the box art. The model will probably be displayed at the Shizuoka show May 15 ~ 16.

It looks as if Tamiya is also releasing some JGSDF vehicles/figures that are currently in Iraq. No pictures yet, but this link has more information:

I,m currently working on the Trumpeter Challenger 2 Op Telic. finished all the major sub assemblies, added the photo etch, and is now in the process of painting.

now Tamiya makes the announcement.

takes the motivation out of finishing the Trumpeter.

BTW, how is the Dragon Challenger 2? Saw the photos on hobby link japan. They were not too clear so cannot judge on the quality of the kit.

Yep, I read the reviews of the trump kit. I have their original chally2 release. Definitely has some problems, but all in all, wasn't a bad kit.
You're probably right, Tamiya will no doubt produce a much more accurate model OOTB

Any news on the Trumpeter front?

I have no doubt that it will kick the butt of the Trumpeter kit up and down the road all day long. Unless they completely and totally fixed all the problems with the C2 they first came out with. I read that they fixed some of the stuff but not all of it.

I have the original C2 they did. It's not a horrible kit but there are some real problems, and not fiddly little rivet-counter things.

I try to get some AC info (particularly about the rumored 1/48 B-17), but they didn't know anything.
Or so they said!

Tamiya 1/35 Op Telic Challenger 2 confirmed!
Posted by J-Hulk on Saturday, April 10, 2004 6:31 AM
For those of you who have been looking forward to it (like me), Tamiya has officially announced the release of their new 1/35 Op Telic Challenger 2. It goes on sale here in Japan on May 26 for 3,800 yen (about $36 USD).

On the mini-Chally 2 front, Dragon's 1/72 C2 is on the shelves. And at about 5 bucks USD, you can't beat the price!
