Truly excellent work on the Tiger I. Definitely your weathering technique really put this model over the top. Someone should be very happy with this tank.
Thanks Bish. Yes it's the plastic skirts from the kit. I did sand the edges at a steep angle to make them look thinner then carefully used a candle to heat the plastic. The molded date in the hull says 1970.
Very impressive job there PJ, would not have thought it was that old kit. Very nice work bending the side skirts, i take it they are the kit ones and not PE.

Thanks for all the great comments gents, highly appreciated. Yes it was actually nice not having to bother with 300 little thingies to be assembled and attached here and there. This thing went together super fast with the weathering taking longer than the actual assembly. I love using this cheap hairspray from the Dollar Store for this technique, it works fine and one can do a bunch of models with one $1 can of hairspray.

That's a great job PJ! I love the worn off whitewash and generally beat-up look. She looks the part of a grizzled veteran!
And it's pretty darn good kit even today. I know there's a bunch of stuff wrong with it, and the rivet-counters will kill me but it looks like a Tiger I (at least to my eyes).

Took a break from aircarft subjects and attempted to dent the armor count in the stash by building this old Tamiya Tiger I as a comission. Was a very simple and easy build since the parts count is very low being from 1970 but still looks like a Tiger. I used Tamiya paints and cheap hairspray for the white wash weathering. Further weathering was done using pigments and oil washes. All comments welcomed.
