While cleaning the other day I found a very old issue of Scale Modeler, Feb/Mar 1967 and in it was was the results of a survey. The survey was to fine out what kits today's modeler would like to see produced and I though I would share what they had listed as far as armor went. Now my scope and history of armor kits are very limited, but I would hate to think that I takes 30yrs to get a kit produced.
8th place- Russian T/34 67.
the note along with it says
Only model of this type is T/34 85mm gun by Revell, which is no longer in production
7th place- Christie T3 Tank
6th place- Renault FT tank WWI
5th place- British Mk.1 "Mother" variation which first appeared on Somme in 1916
4th place- American M-10 Tank Destroyer
3rd place- German half track armored personnal carrier sd.Kfz 250/1
2nd place- General Grant with 75 mm gun
1st place- General Stuart M3A1 light tank used by British in western desert and christened "Honey"
I got a chuckle out of the fact that you could get a 1/50th scale (that seemed to be a popular scale) Tiger I or a Patton tank for $1.00
