i have a whole bunch of them. they are fun and fit well. i like the T-34 and the KV-2. I have painted mine "realistically" and they neve seem to do well in contests. i think my French S-35 is going to be French flag tri color and see how that does.

First of all, great job, it looks like you had fun.
Secondly, I agree with Mike and that these kits are just to be enjoyed. No one can ding you for accuracy, not correcting known faults, not using proper aftermarket items, etc.
I picked up one of the toon Shermans, but have not opened it yet.
keavdog Maybe Gamera can make the Silly Egg group build perpetual (but add Toon Tank to the title) :)

It was Greg Bale's idea- I just picked it up and ran with it.
I thought about running one this year but there didn't seem that much interest. Maybe next year I'll give it a go again.

Awesome. We need a dedicated thread devoted to toon tank builds. These were fun to see.

AH, there's that 'lil toonimater, looking mighty fine.
Tojo - I can now see your pic. That looks awesome!
Dodgy - Thanks! I felt the same way but with the 40% off on all models at HobbyLobby I thought I'd try one as I haven't done armor in years and wanted to mess around a bit with weathering. For $9.00 it's disposible at that point.
Gamera - I recall the GB. Thanks for posting - some awesome stuff in there.
Lemme put in a direct link to the Silly Egg GB here:

All the finished photos are in the third post down.
I can't get into the toon tanks or egg planes, but I can appreciate the fun factor for those who do. Having said that you've done a great job on this beastie Keavdog. Very nice finish.

I did the Panther and Tiger for the silly egg gb a year or so ago.
Dig back in the gb page and there will be several there.
Cool!!! I'll see about getting my two posted when I have a little more time.
TB: You should really try one. They're a lot of fun and great to cure burn-out.
Okay,OKAY ! You've convinced me! I will try a Toon Tank !
That's great Russle! I invite any toon tank builders to post here. I'd love to see them all.
Toon Tanks are a blast, have to say. Nice job on this one too. I did one a couple of years ago, have one more in a box somewhere....
If I may?

I hate to admit it, but I even have a "for fun" dio idea.....
Apprentice rivet counter.
Ohhhhhhhh cool! Love those little kits, so much fun to build. And great job on yours!!!
I feel the urge to build another coming on...
Thats a blast! Super fun. I like the skull lol. I was disappointed that they didn't include the commanders machine gun. The empty mount is a bit weird.
keavdog Thanks all. Really fun kit. Fun to try some armor weathering as well

Too cool!!
Those are really quite cool. Very nice work there as well. It would be fun to build up a bunch of egg planes and toon tanks for part of your display.

Okay with this little turd I tried a few things. Color filters, pigments, pencils etc. Fun little kit. She's up on the shelf and here she is
Nicely done!
My suggestion is; enjoy it! These kits are ment to be fun and they are.
Do whatever you want with it. Play with new ideas, try new techniques, and have fun doing it.
I love mine!
I've done a bit of armor in the past but those darn road wheels.... and the tracks. I sure do appreciate the builds though. So with the recent Hobby Lobby 40% deal I picked up a toon tank. Pretty fun. The plastic is strange, doesn't sand well. So I decided to just build it and experiment with some paint techniques. Here we are so far. I primed with Tamia red oxide primer. Next was ModelMaster OD. After that I shot ModelMaster faded Olive Drab. Nicked it up with a MIG aluminum pencil. More work to do - Flory wash coming and a couple fliters. Really fun. The way I look at it I cant do anythig wrong ...lol.
Welcom any suggestions from you armor guys!
