Hi Guys, I haven't been active here since about 2013, when I discovered radio control tanks in 1/16 and 1/6 scales, but that hobby has branched out to include soft skinned vehicles, like the CCKW (duece and a half), the WC51 weapons carrier series, including the WC64 ambulance and Patton's WC57 command car.
Recently a guy I know in the UK who is a great CAD designer and does the files for most of our 3D printed stuff decided to do the Henschel D33 communications truck so I was looking for info on the interior. I thought this might be a good place to look so I came back, and decided it would only be courteous to post in the Introduce Yourself section since I've been away so long. In that thread it was suggested that our armor modelers might appreciate some of the stuff we've been doing and I'm sure the RC guys can learn a lot from you guys about detail and historical accuracy.
One of the areas I've branched out in has been 3D printing. I have two types of printers, FDM, that prints with filament, and SLA, that uses resin and UV light to create pieces. Here's a photo of my 3D printed CCKW, and most of what you see except for the canvass came right off my 3D printer. We use WPL and JJRC trucks for the axles and drive train, but almost the entire rest of the truck is 3D printed, including the tires and rims, and the tires are printed with TPU, a flexible, rubber-like material.
Here we have some pieces from the SLA printer, jerry cans, windshield wipers and the dash panel from our latest project, the M3 Scout Car.
This is my jewel, a 1/6 Hetzer and the main gun shoots .50 caliber paintballs. It's also equipped with a complete FPV system.
and some of the stuff that I printed as accessories. Keep in mind that I can scale this stuff to any size I want to. Not everythig in the photo is 3D printed, some of the jerry cans are 3D and some are store bought, can you tell the difference?
So what do you guys think? I little cross-hobby cooperation? I'm not entriely sure how much help I can be to you guys (not from lack of tryin'), but I'm pretty sure you can help me. Right now I'm looking for photos of the interior of the D33 commo truck, has anyone stumbled across anything in their research that I might be able to use?
Anyway, it's good to be active here again and right now I'm thoroughly enjoying myself browsing through all the great models you guys have been making, both here and in my original love, scale aircraft, especially WWII fighters. One thing that didn't change in the time I was inactive is the phenomenal level of skill and inovation displayed on this forum.
I'll leave you with a little video to show what I've been up to with the tanks, if any of you guys find this at all interesting I'd love to hear what you think.
Hmm, still have to learn how to embed a video. Here's a link for those interested

Stay safe, guys, we need all the modelers we can get. I'll be getting the covid test tomorrow because one of the guys at work has tested positive so they're testing the entire shop. Wish me luck!!
