Forces of Valor 1/16th scale Tiger II
Posted by Anonymous on Wednesday, April 14, 2004 9:20 AM
Hey guys, a bit OT but the Forces of Valor collection is adding to it a huge 1/16th scale King Tiger made of metal -- it's turret comes off and apparently all of the interior detail is there, engine, ammo, drivers and RO's compartments, the whole nine yards. Each track length apparently weighs two pounds!

I haven't seen pics of it yet, but I am pre-ordering one for my son for Christmas. He's a KT fanatic and he will flip when he sees what Herr Santa has brought. (And he'd better flip across the roof, as it's expensive.)

No photos yet, but I trust these guys to put out a great model. Alex's all-time favorite toy (after Dibby, his bunny from his baby days of course Smile [:)]) is his forces of Valor 1/32nd KT. It goes around killing his plastic Shermans, until the Forces of Valor M1A1 shows up and blows it to kingdom come.

Why didn't they have stuff like this when we were kids!?!? Sad [:(] All we had were the little plastic tanks that went with the green army men and gray German army men!!

Sounds like he'll love it Larry! Too cool.

Just what I was going to ask. But is this going to be a dream for most of us?

You should get two, put one on each foot and take a drive around the backyard battlefield. It's only money!

Nope, Static.

No room for R/C equipment unless you gut the die-cast interior.

I wouldn't worry too much about these models showing up in judging competitions. First off, all the detail on this model will not have the same finess or quality of fine PE, second this model weights a lot more then any static model of this size could.

What will be cool, is that all the accesories found on this model will be perfect for casting copies to use on the R/C variants.

I pre-ordered one, so knock fifty bucks off the sticker price. I got it from that Onsite company that sells the diecast toys.

Hi Larry,

Could you provide a link to the site that you pre-ordered it from?

Thanks

Pretty sweet. A little out of my normal price range. Surprised it doesn't fire.

He's six and he weighs a little more than the tank. Laugh [(-D]

The site? The url is http://www.onsitediecast.com/

The page for Forces of Valor is:
http://www.onsitediecast.com/militaryf.htm

The pre-order special was in an e-mail. I don't think it's on the site. You'd probably want to e-mail them and ask about it.

Yeah, even with fifty bucks off it's a pantload of dough. I'll be cutting back on my model purchases for a while. Which actually isn't a bad thing. Better to build what you've got in the basement/closet than to just buy more and more.

Hey Larry,

That will make a fantastic gift!
Just remember on Christmas day that it is HIS tank not yours!Big Smile [:D] (I recommend a little pre-Christmas inspection to avoid fights!)

Heh heh! He's very special to me, so making him happy on Christmas morning is as fun for me as it is for him. He still believes in Santa Claus, which creates kind of a whacked out image if you think about it -- jolly red faced man in red suit puts Nazi tank in his sleigh with a smile and a wink. "Smash a few bolshie tanks for me, Fritz. Ho ho ho." [:0]

Everyone should have a Dad like you Larry!
Hopefully your son doesn't ponder the greater significance of his gift from Santa quite like that. "Daddy, is Santa a fascist?" would be too much on Christmas day. Besides, I think he will be too busy bouncing off the walls.
