Too true, bait for a sucker like me.
And then there's the stuff I've had hidden away for a while. Again, looking through old boxes, I found a hull, reasin Varlinden upper and Tamiya M3 Grant lower, missing a turret and lots of small bits, and in another box a resin ADV/Azimut low bustle turret. It's a natural, right? The hull is at least 20 years old.

Also in the pic is a Tamiya M3 Lee lower hull I've decided to build up. I've had the kit in the box, still wrapped, for well over 15 years, and thought "why not?" So it's started too, with an Italeri rear plate ssince Tamiya modeled the M3A3 diesel engined tank and I want a straight up M3. It'll get lots of corrections using Sherman bits. Right now I've started the engine access cover fix and am also making the idler mounts less "toy like".
I have a Panzer Art turret, not completely correct but better then the kit part.
And the 'E8: the Tamiya kit has a very nice mantlet mount, so I did some hackery and put it on a Dragon split hatch T23 CDA turret, added the third lifting ring and took the rear MG storage brackets off. I think it'll work.
