'Paper' tank kits

Nope, haven't built any paper tanks. I bought a book of paper planes before, and I had a lot of fun with it. They weren't simple 2D shapes, but complex 3D curves and shapes, so the finished product was actually fairly nice.
Definitely not anywhere in the territory of actual plastic kits, but as far as an evening of amusement goes, it beats TV!

I had a brilliant idea a while back about designing super-detailed paper WWII models. It didn't take much research to find my 'brilliant' idea was about forty years too late. There is some great stuff out there, very well designed. Most have free samples to try out, I found a really cool site with a V1 and V2 that were superb. I can't find the original website, I have the files on my Mac, but here's a link to the same V2.

I haven't built a paper tank, but I have built a paper model (1/144 scale I think) of Shakespeare's Theater for a school project. Didn't like paper. Must remind myself to stick with plastic, always! Off course the paper is made of, well paper which burns better! Oh, I mean I will "throw away" the gastly thing when it's turned in.

check out some polish models websites. Paper modelling is huge here and in most eastern europeon countries. Back in the bad old days USSR plastic kits were as we know,frankly crap! My local shop has literally hundreds to choose from.Tanks planes,ships. The scales are ones you will never find in plastic and the complexity of the ships like the victory would tax the most brilliant modeller. They have more clubs and exhibitions for paper models than plastic. The low wages over here for the average modeller means that card models are their only way to go.

lolok, jendobrey!! (or however you spell that! My Polish stinks, but so does my English!) I think I'm going to have to try one of those kits, they look like fun. I used to make my own cardboard tanks when I was a kid, not very accurate, but still fun (and they had interiors!).

I wilsh I had a feel for how difficult the "difficult" and "very difficult" levels are. Looks like a lot of fun.

Hi Poniatowski, My Polish is rubbish as well. Enough to get by in the model shops.
I am a Londoner now based here with a beautiful polish girl,cheap kit prices(to me)and all the Eastern European photoetch I can handle.

I've read about a paper 'kit' (actually a book with over 600 pages) of a merchand ship that really has all the decks and all the bulkheads in it, when built it is over 2m long and it costs well over 300 $. Unfortunately I don't have the link to show you.
I Asia papermodeling is also huge, check out the next link, you'll find litterally hundreds of models to download for free (and yes there are some tanks in it also)

When I went to Ausf's link, I couldn't believe how detailed those tanks were. Look at that pzkwgn 4! It's almost more detailed than any plastic kit!
I like the panther. It would be fun to do build a paper panther someday, especially in 1/25.
