If its the same book then its cheap. I payed 312 Danish kroner, thats $49.
Oh and I forgot there is also a complete list of books about the Tigers in the end of the book.

Monrad,
Are you trying to bankrupt me?
I have about five just on modeling the Tiger and I guess I'm making it six...
I found a site with it for $29. Is that about right?

New Tiger book! Review.
Posted by Anonymous on Thursday, April 15, 2004 3:51 PM
About a week ago in another topic I promised to review my new Tiger book once I got it. Well now I've got it and I have read most of it.
Originaly I was going to post this in the old thread started by ausf ( hope you read this ) but I thought it would be easier to start a new thread.
Well here goes.

The book is called "The modeler's guide to the Tiger tank" - a complete and comprehensive guide to modeling the Tiger I and Tiger II in 1/35th scale.
By Patrick A. Stansell. Published by Ampersand publishing. Soft cover, 172 pages.

As it says its a guide to modeling the Tiger, but its not only about modeling.
It starts by telling the story of the Tiger, both the development and how it was used in the field. If you have read the Tiger books by Thomas L. Jentz there is nothing new here. But I didn't expect that either so im not disapointed. What this gives you is a handy piece of reference. When you are modeling and think - what was the difference between the January 1943 model and the February 1943 model of the Tiger I- you can look it up here quick and easy and it will tell you in short precise terms backed by pics and drawings.
Nice.

Then he shows 13 fully detailed models of the Tiger I and Tiger II and they are AWESOME, wow. Works of art, they cover the entire time span of the Tiger from prototype to late war Tiger II.
Then he tells you how he did it in pics and text, lots and lots and lots of great tips and tricks here.
At the end of the book there is a complete list of aftermarket stuff and kits available with prices and web adresses.
I think I' ll get to like this book.....no I already like it........I LOVE IT. Big Smile [:D]Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]
