I am looking for the material for the soft top or patterns for the 1/9 kublewagen
I think it is just a thin piece of cotton cloth:
If you can find the pattern, you can transfer that to a material known as Silkspan. This used to be very common in the flying model section of hobby shops.
It can be hard to find of late. It's still in demand for flying models, but also for sails on ship models for being so thin and delicate. And, even at 1/9 delicate matters.
Easybuilt models still sells silkspan last time I looked. I have covered quite a few airplanes with it.
I need the patterns I know all about silks pan, coverite etc. I have built rc scale planes for years I just need the patterns as Rob has shown above

You might be able to use Photoshop to adjust that photo enough so you can print the pattern onto a piece of printer paper. That's why I tried to search for the original Esci boxing of the kit, to see if there was a usable copy somewhere online.
Somebody, somewhere, has this kit unbuilt in their stash and may be able to scan a copy of the cloth to you.
As I said in the general modelling thread, I'll check my stash.

G'day mate. I have the Esci 1/9th Kubel, so how can I help?
Hi that’s great I know you do t want to give it up but if you could take a photo of it and just give me the dimensions of the longist part of the top I should be able to blow it up and print the pattern. Thanks
so much, Fred

Hi Fred. I'll dig the kit out tomorrow and work something out.
Ok thanks
G'day Fred. Ok, I've dug out the kubel from my secondary stash. Wow, the stuff I found that I had forgotten I had........ Sorry about the delay, but it was a bit of an effort to get to it.
Anyway. Initially I thought that I could scan the thing and send you a copy full size, but that's not going to work. How about i just mail it to you? Then you can make a copy and send it back to me. As long as you are prepared to return it, I'm happy to send you the original.
What do you think?
That sounds good but if you would just take a photo of it and email to me with a measurement of some part I can blow it up to the right size, I would hate for it to get lost in the mail coming or returned to you.
thanks, fred
