You're very welcome. It's not too often I can offer some help, or at least a semi-educated opinion!

You are right, during normal routine maintenance, entire sides of track are replaced at once and probably all the same style. But if a few blocks are bad and need to be replaced because the tank "threw track" or ran over a mine, you would get what was available to keep your vehicle rolling. Even if you had to take it off an inoperable tank or get two or three track blocks given to you off of other vehicle's spare track racks.

Thank you! Yes, from what I can tell the different variants were on vehicles at the same time. probably what ever was available from supply? I agree, I think I will stay with the T51 set in the kit rather than shelling out a tidy sum for a Friul set. Thanks very much for the input!

I've got a couple of pics of M10's in Normandy with the T51 tracks. There are so many pictures of M4's, M10's, M12's and other Sherman based vehicles with all different styles of track. I don't think you can go wrong with either type. I think I'd use the T51's. Just my opinion.

I'm building The Tamiya M10 and it looks like it has the T51 tracks. Is this accurate or were the T49 tracks used? I can't find anything specific on it. I want to use it for a Normandy dio. TIA for any help.
