Wow that's a big one.  Does it come with the rail/track/bed?  Pic could be from 1984 with all the small testors paints and the orange testors tube glue.  Dig your glue holder BTW 

I agree, it's intimidating when you open the box and look at the instruction book.  Thair are more parts in "one" rail car-truck, then in the gun barrole and chasie combined.  That's why I did the gun barrole-first.  The chasie secound, and -then-whent back to the first page of instructions, and started the rail bed.  I lined the barrole with one section of aluminum tubeing, sleaved in evergreen tubeing, from muzel to breach.  Then led waights to the breach to compensate for the waight of the barrol---did'nt quite ballance, but the sholder pivets are tight enuf to make up the difference.

Yes-keavdog.  It comes with two chosiss.  Straight-like I'm using " for lack of display space", or an L track layout- for diarama.

     Some Smart Alec brought one in 1/87 to run our layout in the museum. Got to the first curve and said "Uh"Uh". That was Annie! So your monster is all the more intimidating because of the size difference. Nice job so far. 

    I got what one observer said about your glue holder. Hey when I "R.V.d" That's what I did. I used a table that folded. The crease also makes a good brush holder if the handles are fat enough!

That looks fantastic - I'm watching with interest, as I have the 1/72 Hobby Boss kit in the stash (and that's big enough for me!).

Starting to want this kit even more now! You said that base and the rail ballast comes with it? I was also really admiring those canons under your bench. Do you have a post about those anyplace?

No, I don't think I'm that brave!  It'll be pretty much out of the box, and then put on a simple wooden base.  But your build is making me want to get mine started!

She's coming along beautifully! 

I like them because thay are two piece hallow castings.  This alowes me to add a caped gas pipe serounded by epoxie inside. And drill the fuse hole.  And they fire.

very nice.  i have one that has been a shelf queen for years but, as  i am in the shelf queen GB and alredy knocked out 3 kits,  this is my ultimate for this year.

i see we build differently. i have both trucks done and dark yellow. they probably need some touching up, the decals and oil washes. i am so much better at washes and filters than when i started it which is a plus. thanks for the info on the weighted breech.

are you using the plastic track? i will lay my own. it really is not that hard and, with a bit of prep work, takes as long as fixing up the plastic. i did a presentation years ago for one of my model clubs.

Whoa! That track and bed look fantastic. Same with the spikes from what I can see in a small image.
