You can also fine them in pencil form from companies like Dewent. The oil pastels are waxy while the 'dry' or 'chalk' type are powdery and can be scraped or ground for dust.

Just to make sure you're not confused by this statement .... pastel chalks come in much the same kind of packaging as oil pastels. If you have a Michael's or any other arts & crafts stores near you, that's the best place to look for them. I use a set from a company named Carre and purchased them at Michael's.

Just make sure you don't get oil pastels !!!

They don't work very well at all.

I picked up a couple of sets of pastel chalks, one is a range from white to black, with shades of grey between, the other was a lot of browns, reddish-oranges and the like. I think I got them either at Michaels or the base craft store on Kadena...I don't recall for sure. I just need to get up the nerve to really try them out on a kit. Weathering is one thing I really want to master.
A day in the Corps is like a day on the farm; every meal is a banquet, every paycheck a fortune, every formation a parade... The Marine Corps is a department of the Navy? Yeah...The Men's Department.
