I think I read a article a long time ago about the Navy using Mace missiles to take mail and things from subs to to land based locations.

Thanks.  Many moons ago, the fire fighting training area at Little Rock AFB had an old 60s model AF station wagon in the practice area.  Wasn't burned, but the paint was flaking off and I was able to peel up a 2" square for paint matching.  Closest that I found was Model Master Insignia Blue Enamel.  I painted the MM-1 bogies, cab interior, frame and bed 30 years ago with no primer.  Had half of a semi-dried up bottle when I restarted the project, but some Model Master Acrylic Insignia Blue.  Definately not the same shade.   Ended up scouring the internet and finally finding some at Blue Jacket Shipfitters.   I did end up using Tamiya gray primer on the cab and fuel tanks, but found that I had to use a black primer on the green plastic to get a better match to what I had painted underneath 30 years ago.

Rendered that AF vehicle Blue perfectly, too.  Which is one o those colors one just has to get "right."

Thanks for comments.  Yes, used the Sembach Missileers website as well as the TAC Missileers websites for reference photos.  The TAC site also has a Tech or Training Manual for the launch ground maintenace crew.  Extremely helpful!

The is a working MM-1 Teracruzer at the Four Wheel Drive Musuem in Wisconsin (they built the Teracruzers).  The good staff there provided me with photos of the underside of the cab to help with details and the steering linkage.

The details for the missile panel lines and receptacles and the details for the translauncher are from photos that I took at the Air Force Armament Museum at Eglin AFB, FL.   Great museum and displays on the grounds.

Started the model back in college 30+ years ago.  Built and painted the missile and started on the MM-1, but work and life got in the way.  Figured up that the box and components made 5 moves with me!

Now THAT is a fascinating website. As an old USAFE guy in the U.K. it was great to read about Sembach

Also, that huge model looks fantastic. The figures really give it scale.
