hiya modern armor people !
does anyone know if there is a recovery version of the Abrams ?
i thought i saw a pic of this thing somewhere, but can't find it now... Sad [:(]
i'd really like 2 see some pix if possible.
going 2 start my M1 GB project this weekend if all goes according 2 plan !

Don't know about a recoverly version, I thought they used old M-60's for that. I know that there is a mine clearing version, the Panther II, based on the M1 chasis.

There was a proposed Abrams based recovery vehicle, but it was never produced. The current US heavy recovery vehicle is the M88A1 and A2. Here they are:
