Turret is misshaped, final drive cover isn't thick enough, side plates need a seem in them.

How's that for starters ?

Depends on how far you want to go with it. There are some basic problems with the Tamiya kit like weld lines and sponson bottoms that can also be addressed.

But it's basically up to you ...... you can build it straight out of the box and you'll have what looks like a Jumbo.
.... Or you can dive into AM parts and get a turret and final drive cover from Tank Workshop.
.... Or you can really lay out the bucks and get the Blast Models Jumbo (which I here is fantastic) and build a very accurate Jumbo.

It's up to you.

I am just interested in the fixes that I can possibly fix without having to buy other parts and so on.

The bottom of the sponsons can be easily filled in with some plastic card. Go to
Wal-mart and buy one of those yard sale signs they sell for $1.25 and you'll have plenty. Thicken the final drive cover with a little putty or some more plastic card and it will look a lot better. As far as the turret goes, don't worry about it.

Here's a link to some on-line photos of a Jumbo that can help a bit.

This is why I didn't ask Sherm about this when I got that Tamiya Jumbo. LOL.

Thanks for all the info. I got one cheap at hobby lobby. They are down sizing their model section. When I started the look for refrence photos I came across info saying it had problems. I was worried that they were major.

Thanks again
