Need some advice on aftermarket upgrades
Posted by Gunnie on Sunday, December 10, 2023 1:11 AM

G'day folks.

Now that I'm semi retired & out of the military & settled down,  I'm looking to get back into my life of scale modelling.

One project that I've had cemented in my mind for a lot of years,  is a devotional diorama of my first tour into Afghanistan 2009-2010. Much like Blairy's build on the Bushie PMV, I was part of an all RAAF EOD team (callsign Wallaby 2) initially in late 2009 when I rotated in to replace a peer who was recalled early. The rotation that I started with,  arrived in theatre in late Jan10.  I was asked if I wanted to stay longer than my amended 3mths, which I heartedly jumped at.  I then became the team No1 for Wallaby 2 calling for a further 3mths.

So this is the motivation & much like Blairy's (& yes I know him well and served with him in the same unit),  I want to commemorate that pivotal time in my life.

I have the ScaleMates 1/35th Bushie kit,  the remote Mag58 turret, sagged wheels kit, Talon EOD RPV kit, Black Dog EOD operator & Meng EOD kits.  I'm yet to track down the Black Dog Aussie  Bushie add on gear kit.

I've sourced a 1/35th set of the Space-Case trunks that we used.  The part in the BD kit was not correct for our vehicle as we used the plastic trunk. Unlike Eli's Bushie, we had ripped out the left side seats & custom built our shelving to fit,  out of plywood. It was pretty flash too!

What I'm looking for is any Aussie members here who can point me in the direction of any small/custom makers of aftermarket upgrade parts for the Bushie. Or even an advice on what I can add to this kit to further enhance it.

Thanks in advance for any advice, information proffered.

Not an Aussie, but have you looked your base kit up on Scalemates to see what accessories are available for the kit? That's usually a good starting point.

U is for URANIUM... BOMBS!

N is for NO SURVIVORS...

G'day mate.  Actually haven't though I did email them to enquire as to when/if they are going to do another run on three 1/35 Bushmaster kit.
