M40 Gun Elevation
Posted by michael151722 on Friday, January 26, 2024 9:28 PM

Hello,

I am currently building the M40 Tamiya 1/35 and is in the midst of working on the gun. My gun elevation can only go so far like 3rd picture, I cannot get it to go high like the 2nd picture. Is This normal, and if I tried to press the issue and go higher the two circular pieces comes apart. Please help and give some opinions on if the gun elevation I currently have is right

Thank you

Hello!

How about if you take the equilibrators off just for test - I'm talking about those brass coloured cylinders above the gun cradle - and test for freedom of movement then?

Good luck with your build and have a nice day

Hello I removed the equilibators and it goes higher but those are suppose to be in place no? And did you see all three photos and how high Andy had his? Is that normal or is my gun elevation like the 2nd YouTube pic the norm?

Thank you

Hello!

I don't know this kit nor Andy's model, but I suspected the equilibrators can limit the amount of elevation. So if they really do, then you have to look at at them and rework them so that they work the way you want them.

Good luck with your build and have a nice day
