I was not certain about the 203. I guess I need to do some research on weapons. No year in particular. . .1966-1972.   But thanks for responding.   It wasn;t my first kit but it was my first 113.

Great job, Keithrob! It's funny that several people here built the M113 as their first kit, because I've never built it!

I'm in the same boat as you Hollowell. I've never built one either. KeithRob, excellent job on your M113 and the weathering and dirt and grime are excellent along with the base and the jungle background. I do have to agree with HeavyArty, regarding how your figure is holding that M203. BTW, are you depicting a certain year in this diorama?

One thing I have noticed though.  The guy in the middle is holding the M203 really strangely.  Holding it way back near the buttstock is not normal.  Due to the balance of the M16, which is front heavy (even more so on the M203), it would be very hard to hold it like that.  Usually, it is held forward of the breech on the front hand guard take-down ring, like below, which is how the figure is actually depicted in the Master Box set.

Aditionally, M203s were not very common in Vietnam.  A few were tested there starting in 1969, but they were not fielded Army wide until the mid '70s.

Yeah that's lookin' really good! Don't beat yourself up over the figures, they look pretty good to me! And the 113 looks sharp, love the dirt and grime.

Very nice.  I think the Tamiya M113 was my first Tamiya kit as well; many, many moons ago.

Hello!

I like the weathering on that M113 a lot!

With painting figures... Like my parachuting instructor used to say: it's easy after 10000 times!

Thanks for sharing and have a nice day

Thank you.  Now if I could just learn to paint figures would be a real plus.

The figures on the ground were from Master Box.  I think they were called "Vietnam Patrol" . . . .But the guy on the APC is a resin figure and I got it off ebay from China.  No maker was given.

Nicely done. It was one of my first Tamiya kits, if not the very first.
