Well, it's not modern, but medieval. This is a pair of gauntlets I just finished for my second harness (suit of armor). These are loosely patterned after those found on the Wladislas armor in the Wallace Collection.

Four pix are posted at http://rongeorge.com/modules/Gallery/upload

Maybe some kind soul could bring them into this tread. My computer won't allow it.Smile [:)]

Thanks,

RonBig Smile [:D]

Thanks Captain Caveman!

I worked on and off on them since December. They're 18 gage steel from the knuckles to the end of the gauntlet and 20 gage over the fingers. They're lined with leather gauntlet gloves from Museum Replicas. I also have the breast plate finished and a few other parts.

Funny thing is, I don't do Ren Fairs, just WWII Armor reenacting. I just like making armor.

Looks nice. How about ROBOCOP's armor? He-he-he. Or Darth Vader's for that matter.

Too cool for words! If you've got more, let's see them.
A day in the Corps is like a day on the farm; every meal is a banquet, every paycheck a fortune, every formation a parade... The Marine Corps is a department of the Navy? Yeah...The Men's Department.

Thanks all,

I can do chain mail, but I only butt the rings, no riveting for this guy! Too darned much work. Unfortunately, 18B, I only make the stuff for myself. It takes so darned long to do and it's all fitted to my odd proportions (two heads, three feet, six fingers and two thumbs on each hand, you know typical art teacher stuff). Museum Replicas sells some pretty nice stuff as do many custom plate makers on the web. Just enter something like 'Medieval Armor Sales' or what ever into a search engine and all sorts of stuff like artorius' link will come up.

Ron

fightinjoe, I know what you mean, I have some students who are the same way! LOL. One student did go 'nosing' around while I was making those things and cut his finger on some of the decorative work on one of the finger lames. When he complained to me, I gave him all the sypmpathy I could muster: "Well, hmmm. Maybe now you'll keep your hands off of other people's work without asking permission."
I'm such a kind, caring, nurturing teacher sometimes.
