Sorry, can`t wait for the D-Day build
Posted by Daveash on Sunday, May 2, 2004 7:34 PM
I was planning to save my 2 1/2 ton truck for the D-Day build but the temptation got the better of me. Anyway, I will be on holiday on June 6th. I started this kit alongside my jeep build (same colours etc), Here are a few pics of progress to date.

I plan to create a dio for the D-Day GB, utilising the jeep and truck, and anything left over from the accessory kits.

The pics ay look a bit too light as they were taken late at night with a flash on my camera.

Comments and advice welcome.

Hey Dave,
Nice build..!! I take it that ou used the Tamiya 2 1/2 ton right?? What did you use for the cargo straps??
Dont know what it is but I like the way the weathering turned out!!
Looking forward to seeing your dio.
Flaps up, Mike

If you would listen to everybody about the inaccuracies, most of the kits on your shelf would not have been built Too Close For Guns, Switching To Finger

Very nice Dave, like the weathering. Can't say I blame you for starting early. LOL

The cargo straps are painted masking tape strips and the cargo tie-down is scale rope from an old ship kit.
Thanks for the replies.

Looks very good. I'd say there's a little bit more weathering to go, especially on the inside of the frong wheel wells.
Just out of curiosity, which accessory kits did you use?

I still have quite a lot to do before it`s finished. I have more cargo to add, the cab and M2 machine gun, plus decals, further weathering etc.
The accessories are a jerry can set from Italeri (36 cans), Italeri kit No 407 (ammo crates, guns etc), Tamiya cargo truck accessory kit No 35231(cab details and M2) and Tamiya allied vehicles accessory set No 35229 (oil drums, more jerry cans and kit bags etc)
Hope this helps
