ammunition boxes

Pals
Meanwhile I found the right stuff for my modern tanks, another Question [?] for you.
Of what color are the ammunition boxes for my german (Tamiya)88gunQuestion [?]. I choosed the Rommel Division in Afrika, so all the piece is Tamiya Dark Yellow, with Red Brown for the camo. The shells I painted in Testor brass, by the way looks great, and black the noses. Now, I don't believe that they painted the A.Boxes with the same D.Yell. Or yes? Any ideas?

I've painted ammo boxes green, tan & shades of light/dark wood. If you don't like the way it looks, you can always cover it with homemade tarp.

Thanks kaleu, but the ammo boxes of the Tamiya 88gun look all the way made of metal, not of wood, and if I don't understand bad, you are talking about ammo wood boxes when you said "tan & shades of light/dark wood", or not? please clarify me your answer. And another thing, I made my piece for the Afrika Rommel div. The camo colors of the gun are Dark yellow/Dark Brown, so my question was for those special A.B. in the desert. They painted in the same yellow desert camo? if not, what was the color of the german A.B. Field green, german gray or what?
Thanks again

I was describing painting wooden ammo/supply boxes. I have had metal ammo/supply boxes in my collection that were painted in various shades of Feldgrau, Panzer Grey and dark yellow. Therefore, I think it's safe to say you could paint the boxes in either Afrika Mustard or grey. The Wehrmacht also used captured Britsh supplies, so that could be another variation of color. Hope this helps.
