Stuart External Fuel Tanks
Posted by Foster7155 on Friday, May 7, 2004 12:02 AM
I'm currently building the Academy M3A1 Stuart kit and I'm converting it into a welded hull late model used by the Marines in the Pacific. I have been up and down the Internet on this one and hope someone here might have some insight.

The tank I'm building has the external fuel tanks mounted, but I am at a complete loss to determine exactly how these tanks were connected to the adapted fuel caps. What was used (3/4" rubber tubing, 1" steel tubing, etc)? Where did each fuel tube connect to the actual fuel tank (lower aft end, center bottom, etc)? Was the system completely gravity fed, vacuum assisted, or pumped?

Any help on this will be greatly appreciated.
