I like dragons kits quite a bit the newer retooled ones are great , and pretty cheap . Tamiyas are just so clean , its hard to say a bad thing about them , and they too are retooling thier old kits , so for me its a tossup , I like dragons diversity of kits and tamiyas representation.Cool [8D]

I like Tamiya, but I do not have very many kits under my belt, but the m10 I did from ACademy was a very nice kit to build.

Tamiya’s new kits have the best fit I have seen. You can leave the putty in the drawer when you build a newer Tamiya kit, but you will have to pay $$$ for that advantage.

I recently purchased the Dragon Panther G for $15.00. Dragon’s panther has many details that Tamiya just left off and for less than half the price. True, Dragon’s fit is usually not as good and the builds are a bit fussier than Tamiya’s, but from what I have seen, the detail is usually better. Plus, Dragon has come out with a LOT more goodies for us to build lately.

I also recently got through building the AFV Club M10. I don’t know much about allied vehicles, but from what I could tell, the kit had superb detail, and even came with an aluminum barrel, working suspension, and working gun recoil. It was a fussy build though.

In conclusion, if you are looking for an easy kit to build with good detail and don’t mind paying extra for it, go for Tamiya. If you are looking for the best detailed kit, I would suggest Dragon. Plus you will have enough money left over for a sheet of PE and maybe even an aluminum barrel as well.

Tamiya makes the best kits, but I do like experimenting with other Manufacturers, due to their Diversity of Kits. Tamiya tends to stick to the more well known armor pieces. You can find some strange stuff from off vendors.

Thus far, it's Tamiya although I just realized that I put together my Stuart using only the Japanese instructions. I was wondering why I was having such a difficult time figuring out how to paint it until I found the English instructions.

Yet another reason why I should call my mother and apologize.

Tamiya for fit and Dragon for value. Dragon offers pe parts, indy tracks, and costs much less than a comparable Tamiya kit.

In 1/72 I like the newer Revell Germany kits. In 1/35 I have to go with the rest of the guys and say Tamiya. Although Dragon does make some nice kits, and would be my choice for second in 1/35.

You are going to find, if you haven't already noticed, that Tamiya is far and away the most favored company. I like Tamiya, too. But I'll throw in a good word for Dragon. I really like their kits, if you're willing to deal with the independent tracks and the (sometimes) awful instruction sheets. AFV is also supposed to have some fantastic stuff, but I've never built one. Also, Academy is an awful good deal for the money. Especially for their "full interior" models.

It all depends on your definition of "best (easy, inexpensive, accurate, etc.) and from which company the model you're looking for is available.

I agree with Shermanfreak on this one... Tamiya all the way. By far Tamiya has the best plastic molds, the best fit and finish (requiring minimal putty work and sanding etc) and some of the best decals in the world (the decals are so good in fact that I did an F1 driver with a helmet with no micro sol or micro set and I was able to mold the decal perfectly to the convex helmet ;-)

I stopped buying anything other then Tamiya about 10 years ago, I just can't be bothered with the other companies. Although there are a number of kits out there from other manufacturers that are just as good - but they are select few from the various manufacturers... whereas with Tamiya every single one of their new models is pretty much perfect.

The only problem is that Tamiya is extremely expensive for the most part. You might be able to get some good deals off E-Bay though ;-) I still say they are worth every penny especially if you consider the hastles and aggravation they save you in the long run ;-)

I can agre with Robert and say that Tamiya is my favorite also. Of coarse I have not built to many armor models from other ones yet either.

My favourite for 1/35 is Tamiya all the way.

None that I hate, but some just need more work than others.
Happy Modelling and God Bless Robert

I am curious as to what would be the best company for making really nice models. So far, I am pleased with the Italiary 1-72 scale kits. I really like the 1-37 scale Dragon kits as well.

What would be the most worthwhile company to buy from?

Are there any you hate? Evil [}:)][}:)
