Lookin for a good kit to build
Posted by rebelreenactor on Saturday, May 15, 2004 7:11 PM
Right now i'm pretty dried up. all im buiulding is a 105 mm howitzer. And its near completion. Ive looked at all of the kits online, read their reviews, etc. I just cant decide what to build. I want something WWII. Not really an AVF. I'm basically looking for a pretty good kit with few probs and VINYL tracks, Im not to good at the indys yet. Have any suggestions?
Thanks

Tamyia T-34 is kinda easy with rubber band tracks.

I would rather recommend some figures and a base for the 105mm you are working on now to give it life :)

The Academy Line of Tank Destroyers offers a change in pace type build. I am building the "Duckbill" now with the Jackson, Achillies, and M18 waiting in the wings. They are really nice, and won't break the bank. The need very little in AM parts and have rubber band tracks. Just my 2 cents

I wouldn't do it, if I were you, but it's your choice. The reason the Tamiya M3 is so...inexpensive...is that there are quite a few problems with the kit and there is virtually no interior details at all. I'm currently building the Academy M3A1 and would highly recommend it or the Academy M3 Honey if you're going with a Stuart. Just my opinion though! Big Smile [:D]

Thanks, Foster, I had some doughts about the price. i guess i could go big.
I kida changed my mind anyway, I'm looking for a good German WWII sefl propelled guns, like a Marder III or a nashorn. Know of a good kit? I read the Review for Tamiya Marder III sounds good from what i read.

How about Tamiya's Wespe? It is apparently a good kit also, but you don't see as many as you do Marders. I reckon they look pretty cool.

Anti-aircraft tanks are pretty interesting as well.

Tamiya's Wespe, Marder III, and Marder IIIM are all pretty nice kits. They also have the benefit of having Tamiya's "second generation" vinyl tracks which are MUCH better than the older tracks they used to produce.

Good luck on your search.
