Super discount place
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, April 4, 2003 3:20 AM
I also posted this in the ship section. I was turned on to this site while searching for a erasonably priced 350 scale USS Enterprise. This guy told me to check out www.evosale.com They erally have unbelievable prices. Has anyone ordered from them before? They only do Tamiya, but if you doon't mind picking up a Dragon Wagon for $65 or other tank kits for $20. This looks like the place. If anyone has ordered from them in the past, I would really like to know if they are legit.

HOLY MOLY! That place could really get me into trouble. I need to keep telling myself I have enough projects going right now . . . or do I?

Thanks for the tip!!

I will not comment on how legitimate this site is, BUT there are many grammatical errors on it. My guess is that this is a garage type operation by someone who probably does not speak English as their first language. I would suggest contacting the company via email to see if you can order a $10 item using a money order first. I also noticed that in their “Shipping and Reture” section, they mention something about purchasing boxes that they will start using to ship orders in. Take that as you will…

Good luck, and let us know how it turns out.

Looks like they used to be an ebay store (not up anymore so I can't check feedback). They're in CA. And their website is still advertising for Christmas ideas. If they wait long enough it will still be appropriate. I look forward to hearing more from others as well, although, I won't be buying any new kits at least until 2004 - I have too many already (not to include scratchbuilds, jetski season, new baby, new house . . .).

I shot them an email to ask a simple question about 2 wks ago w/o any reply. Where are they sending the kits from? My fear is that the CA address for payments is just that and that someone will be shipping the kits from HK or somehwere in the Far East. Notice how there are no shipping rates to be found anywhere on the site?

I hope they get things on straight. They aren't impressing me yet.

There are guys on eBay who sell DML and Tamiya stuff very cheaply from HK and Korea. However, their shipping is about $15. Doesn't make up the difference to me.

Man, there should be heavy laws for this kind of trash, send them some white flour in an envelope, thatll scare them and make them think about ripping off honest-to-go guys.

no dont do that you may get into trouble, but its a comforting thought!

Heres a tip for people who may get a speed camera ticket in the post, you know how they send you the photo of youre cars license plate with the date and speed on it, along with a fine. Take a photo of the money and send it back to them!

Thanks a bunch for the "heads-up" on this "rip-off" web site. This is one of the great things about our FSM community modeling forum(s) ... when this kind of stuff happens ... we can put out the word and help keep others from making the same mistake. I hope the ones who have been burnt by this stinkin' bunch get there stuff or their money back. Good luck and thanks again!

Checked out the site before I read all the posts. I thought something was up when I saw the snow flakes. Apperently they arn't doing to hot with there "great prices" I couldn't even get the model pages to come up. Thanks for the tip. From what I have seen and headrd I won't be ordering from them. Something smells real fishy. Oh, I forgot you can't smell through the PC. Just wait, it's comin' you way. Just send $99.95 to .................................................................

As the guilty party who posted the original message, Sorry guys. I never did buy anything from them because i was waiting to find someone who used them. I think they are off the air now. I think they wre based out of Hong Kong. I've seen some real cheap Tamiya advertised on ebay and then read about shipping. Get an Enterprise 350 scale for $75 but pay $50 for shipping or $35 for sea shipping and wait 2 months for kit.
