Great job so far!! I really think you have gotten off to a great start with that camo job! Is this the kit that started that whole zim fiasco in the other thread? If it is, you have done a great job taking the zim off. Once again, great looking build, keep us updated with plenty of pics!Big Smile [:D]

Very nice! Is that camo freehand or masked?
A day in the Corps is like a day on the farm; every meal is a banquet, every paycheck a fortune, every formation a parade... The Marine Corps is a department of the Navy? Yeah...The Men's Department.

About the paint problem! Some times its a good idea to prime metal parts before painting them. Use a metal primer ( car body primer ) maybe that will solve your problem.
Can't help you with the rusty look.

What kind of paints are you using? Since the friul treads are metal, you could bake the paint onto the treads in your oven.

1) Preheat normal (not microwave!) oven to 200 f.

2) Paint the treads.

3) While still wet, put the painted treads in the oven on a piece of wood. Let bake for around seven minutes.

4) Take out and allow to cool. Aerate the oven. (Leave door open and open your window.)

This bakes the paint right into the metal. I've had better luck with oils than with acrylics, but it works ok with acrylics too. Try to do it when your better half will be out for a while, so you can aerate the house. It stinks, and she won't like it going into the oven.

Larry, Thats an interesting process.. I never would have though of cooking the paint. You don't by chance work at a bodyshop do you???Big Smile [:D] Very cool tip... I bet it works well...

ALso there is a product called Blacken It avalible in model railroad shops. It stains the metal dark color. I have not used it myself but many folks sware by it...

I know of this blacken it stuff you speak of, just didnt want to spend the cash for it for only one set of tracks. So Shermanfirefly do you only play BF1942 or BFV and all the mods 1942 has.Been playing for around a year now and cant wait for forgottin hope update.Sign - Off Topic!! [#offtopic] I know.
