1:25 Jagdpanther advice
Posted by robertburns on Friday, May 21, 2004 11:33 PM
Hello fellow builders,

I'm a car modeler who has recently discovered the worlds of 1/25th and 1/24th armour and aircraft. I've bought 5 of the old Tamiya 1/25th scale tanks. Academy has rereleased Tamiya's 1/25th scale Jagdpanther, and I've decided to build this as my first ever armour project. It will be box stock, but I would like advise on past kit reviews and articles with techniques (any scale Jagdpanther) in FSM. My kit will be the monochromatic late version with the skirts. Does any knows any units that used this type? Can someone explain pre shading and post shading? Any good websites or books about the Jagdpanther? Are there any Jagdpather groups out there? How about 1:25th scale armor modeling groups? Are there any aftermarket companies that make 1/25th scale parts for armor. Thanks for all your help, Robertburns

you certainly believe in jumping right in. a good reference to start with is squadron/signal's panther in action book. i'm not sure about it's availability but check at squadron.com for starters.i don't know of any clubs exclusively for that scale, but you never know. finally, for anyone who is interested in armor, the name to remember is sheperd paine. seeketh his books, absorb ye his wisdom and rhen you will go far and all that yadda-yadda. good luck.
