Building Acadamey's Tiger-1 early version

The model is the one without the interior detail. Its my first armor model, and i was wondering if any of you fellow modelers have a few tips to get me started.

Hmm what kind of tips are you looking for ??
What kit is it, is it the one with the interior detail or the one without ?? ( I can't remember if they both indy tracks or if its just the one with the interior detail )
No matter which kit it is, they are both good kits. If its your first armor kit then you should just follow the instructions, they are ok as far as I remember ( It has a been a while since I last built an Academy Tiger )
If I remember corectly, the academy Tiger has more parts than the Tamiya Tiger. This means there will be a bit more glueing and some sanding to remove assembly seams.

Try to be a bit more specific in your question and Im sure you will get more help. Smile [:)]

Welcome to "The Darkside" gunney.

I've never built the Academy Tiger before, but hear it is an excellent kit. Just dive in and stat building, ask any questions as you roll along.
Happy Modelling and God Bless Robert

I have built that kit.. It is a good build.. I also used Friulmodel tracks, and an Eduard barrel, which REALLY made the kit..Big Smile [:D]

I have built the early and I am inrogress on the mid. Both are great kits. The best advise is to dry fit everything. Some of the ammo pouches along the fire wall do not fit. And the Ammo stowage is way off. Also I would get the interior shell in place then paint he engine compartment walls. Paint the engine before placing it inside the compartment. Dry fit the turret assembly as you build the lower hull interior. Maybe even build the turret assembly before the hull. There are some real close fits and this will help. The tracks are kind of a bear. Build them in 5-6 link pieces and use the glue provided with the kit, it drys muuch slower and gives you time to adjust. Other that that it really is a fun kit to build, as is the Mid version. HAVE FUN!Big Smile [:D]
