Konig Tiger Aerial Recon Flag
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, May 24, 2004 10:11 PM
Hey all,

i'm in the final stages of building my Tamiya Konig Tiger 1/35 for the Ardennes front. i was just wondering if the germans used any aerial recognition panels or flags on the King Tigers in this area and time. i've never seen a picture of a King Tiger with such a flag, but is it possible?

thank you all,

best regards,

joe

Possible? Sure, but the Luftwaffe was almost nonexistant by Dec. '44 so it would be very unlikely.
The only ones they would be recognized by were Typhoons, Thunderbolts, Mustangs etc. Not a good proposition.

I know they did very early in the war when their blitzkriegs were happening. Like Derek said, their airforce was more defensive at that point. I never have seen a Kingtiger with any flag either.

I think the only flag by then would be a bullseye.
