First model in 20+ years
Posted by Anonymous on Tuesday, May 25, 2004 11:54 PM
Finally have the model completed (picked an easy one), have it painted and am now working on all the additional equipment and stores found on an LRDG chevrolet. Weathering and diorama to follow (an evening laager somewhere in the desert)

I'll post more pics as the project progresses.

I'd forgotten how fun this was Big Smile [:D]

Looks good to me. Do you have any plans of doing some weathering on it?

Nice job, Dave. Welcome back to modeling and to the forum. I'm another with a 20+ break. With me, it was closer to 30, I think. Have fun!

Nice clean build all the way. Built that kit a number of years ago and it was most enjoyable.

We look forward to your progress ... thanks for sharing.

Welcome to the forums and welcome back to the hobby. I always liked that kit, but never built one before. Would have been good for the small AFV build.

This is something a little off topic from your model. I don't know if you already know this or not or even care, but I couldn't help but notice your badge (PWOR?) has latin on it. The latin, nunquam cede, translates to never give in. nunquam = never, and cede = give in/ yield. Just something I thought you might be interested in. Great modelBig Smile [:D]!

Actually scubaboy, it translates as a regimental motto to "never surrender". It is the badge of the Princess of Wales' Own Regiment, based in Kingston, Ontario. I was once a member many many years ago.
