Hi! I recently purchased a Verlinden "Bergepanther Improvement" kit #2001 from a friend that replaces most of the interior (even has the flooring with the torsion bar suspenion molded in) of the Italeri kit. The transmission and wench assembly is represented - lots of detail. A sheet of photo etched exterior parts are included and the rear engine deck wall as well. I started looking at the Italeri kit and hoped that I could fit the upper structure onto my Tamiya Early Panther G chassis but I can't get it to fit properly. I'm not sure if you could mount it on a Dragon A or D but you may be able to use the Italeri superstructure as a template and cut out the openings needed. Since I'm not experienced doing major conversions, I've put it all away and will wait until Dragon or Academy comes out with one.

Good Luck

Bergepanther conversion kit

I am looking for a conversion kit for a bergepanther, not the Italieri version, but the Auf A/D with the turret removed and a wooden cover over it. Does anyone have any leads? Was this the only difference? Was there a winch inside or was it used like a prime mover to just tow disabled panzers?
