Excellent work!
I tried to find something to criticize (constructively, of course), but I couldn't!

Great first shot, for sure! The mud is indeed really good-looking. Since you provide us with a pic of the business end of this Panther, I'd try to put some black into that tube so that the plastic or brownish paint does not show anymore and so that it gives the appearance of being hollow(er)...

Nice job, people tend to favor "dirty"on the dark side so it fits right in.

First armour build !!!!

FANTASTIC !!!!!!

I only have one very small comment, and that is your jack may be a little too much on the silver side. A little ground graphite scrubbed on it will darken it a little.

Once again ..... great build !!!!
Happy Modelling and God Bless Robert

LOVE LOVE LOVE the mud! Great job. Mud is great! Very few tanks should be without it, so good job on the mud departement. I think the side fenders should have just a little bit sloped on the side, but lookin good! What did you use for the mud? Putty?

I wish my first tank looked that good. I'd normally say to add more dry brushing, but your mud seems to nullify the need for it. Jolly good.

Thanks for the comments guys.
Especially djmodels1999 and shermanfreak.

I'll sort out the shiny inner barrel, which is a turned aluminium number, and the jack as well.
The tracks are aftermarket items, 86 per side. That took some doing!!
As for the mud, it's pastel chalks, and I fixed it in position using semi gloss acrylic.
Once dry, I just dry brushed a little more to highlight where I figured it would be drier.

And phroosh, we Aussies really can mix it up with the big boys, but I dont think it's my calling.

I'm strictly a 'Wingy Thingy' kind of guy.

But when my attention wavers from the wings, I need something to build!!

Outstanding job on a first piece of armor. The mud looks fantastic. Is the zim the pe set? If so you did great with it, don't see any of the troubles I had with it showing up.

Looks good!

In addition to what the others said about the shiny jack and the spare tracks, you can add a liitle rust on them to help make them look a bit older.

Great mud! Big Smile [:D]Good job.

Hey I remember my first tank model almost 40 years ago. It was an Aroura 1/48th Panther. I'm happy to say yours is about a thousand times better than mine turned out. Great first effort. I can't wait to see your 20th tank. Keep us posted when you win your first contest!

Thanks again for your observationsBig Smile [:D]

I agree with the extinguisher comment, but I felt as though a little artistic licence was needed, to kind of break up the lines a little.

But now I'm not so sure.
Easily fixed though!Smile [:)]

And yes lizard, it is the PE zimmerit.
It was a really shocking fit, seams left, right and centre.Disapprove [V]

But I carefully filled each seam with some Zap green, and then filed matching score marks into it, so it would all flow together.
Took some doing, but was worth itSmile [:)]

Im finishing the dio to go with it, yet another first for me.
When thats done, I'll place another pic here.

Now I need another tank, for some reason these things kinda grow on ya!!

Wink [;)]

One more thing.
It's kinda hard to see in the pics, but around the gunner turret, at the front, the PE zim was really cruddy to fit.
I filled the gaps with Gunze MR Surfacer, and sanded to blend.
Is this the usual manner, or is there something totally different/easier?

Tweety1 Nice Panther Mate My first tank was a Panzer11 which i only finished a couple of months ago it's a Africa corps model so i didn't use mud but after seeing yours i might dirty it up some more.

As for your next tank GO THE TIGER.

One Question for you armour guys whats the Italieri Panther like,i beleive the zimmeret is molded on.

Looks excelent. Gotta love a muddy Panther, or any Panther for that matter!
As the others mentioned the jack and fire extinguisher would be the same color as the vehicle.

Hey, congrats on a great build-up -- I won't even say, first effort, as it's great for any build-up. Now, time for the other five marks of panzer. Wink [;)]
